          High school diploma or equivalent

          2-5 years welding experience to include open table setup

          Attainment of advanced welding certifications a plus, but not required

          Requires an understanding of all welding techniques, material characteristics and structural fundamentals.

          Ability to operate forklift trucks, portable hoists and overhead cranes

          Use of logic to identify problems, alternate solutions, conclusions and approach to problems

          Good math, algebra and to a less degree, geometry required

          Verbal communication skills, and ability to interact with others as part of a team

          Open table setup

          Strong print reading

          Mig .035 & .045

          Hardcore & Flux

          10 gage to 1 1/2" material

          majority of material is 1/2" to 1 1/4"

          Majority of work is 1 - 2 pieces



          Under supervision, responsible for setup-up performing all position wire welding of mild metals, with some stainless steel applications, on a line of standard weldment and structures where alignments, dimensions and weld quality must meet general inspection requirements

          Works from drawings and job layouts

          Methods generally standardized but incumbent may select and vary techniques within limits of recognized procedures

          Fit and position weldments having a number of parts, using fixtures and jigs where applicable

          Must assist with shop machine maintenance when required

          Other duties as assigned by management


Pay and hours:

          1st shift, Monday Friday; start at 6 am or 7 am; 8 hour shift with possible overtime

          Pays up to $20/hr. based on experience
