Operate heat treating furnaces and quenching equipment to change the physical properties of a wide range of high and low carbon metals.
Select and regulate furnace temperatures for specific treating jobs; visually check materials for foreign matter, lad furnaces and time prescribed heating cycles to bring materials to proper temperatures.
Remove materials from furnace, immerse in oil bath for quenching.
Work from specifications, charts and instructions.
Use scale, pyrometer and Rockwell testing instruments to read temperatures and test hardness.
Proceed with minimum supervision on standardized and regular work; instructions and guidance provided on unusual and critical work or operating difficulties.
Select proper statistical tool to maintain process control and quality reliability.
Manufacturing experience in similar setting
Previous experience as a heat treater is a plus
Pay, hours, and benefits:
1st shift for the first three (3) months; after three (3) months it may transfer to an off shift.
$13.67/hr. to start
