During Shift Operations
Weft Insertion System (Carrier)
This area is the most active part of the machine and needs the most attention. During operations you must constantly check the carriers to ensure that:
oCarriers are threaded properly no crossed ends
oMaterial is laying properly no gaps
oShog support system for missing or broken rake wires, pneumatic cylinder clamps are not broken or cracked and any visible damage.
oMaterial flows unobstructed through the central guide unit.
Constantly check carrier system for tangles, missing ends and obstructions.
Keep all rollers that come in contact with material clean.
Maintain stitching area to ensure that all threads are running parallel and not crossed.
Keep creel full at all times.
Properly splice running ends together using the correct splicer.
If material is needed notify shift leader.
Log in pallet number on disposition card of each pallet of raw material used to stock the creel. (Stitching, weft and warp)
Doff finished rolls (do not touch material with dirty hands), weigh them, scan into computer, print labels, wrap and label rolls and palletize them.
Keep running ends uncrossed at all times and threaded in prescribed pattern.
High school diploma or general education degree
Industrial or manufacturing environment preferred
Experience working in team oriented, multi-shift environment
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand sometimes in excess of 7 hours and use hands to handle or feel. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 60 pounds.
