Northwest Waukesha County Manufacturing seeks a Mechanical Engineer.  This is a Direct Hire opportunity. Our customer develops diverse applications for Agricultural Equipment OEM Manufacturers.  The successful Mechanical Engineer is responsible for recommending, developing, implementing and maintaining optimal, cost effective manufacturing processes, methods and controls in accordance with product specifications and standards.  This position will coordinate between research and development, management, production, technical sales, suppliers and quality to meet customer requirements.    

Duties Include:     

              Knowledge and experience in QRM (Quick Response Manufacturing)

              Understanding and some experience in Lean manufacturing

              Ability to trouble shoot and interact with a diverse team to analyze, evaluate and take the lead in solving production engineering issues

              Performs research, design, and development of manufacturing processes, production flow, assembly methods, and production equipment including tooling & fixtures

              Design, cost justify, develop, execute, and test capital and productivity projects within approved budgets, scopes and timelines

              Perform product/process analysis for cost reduction, quality improvement, and efficiency improvement

              Involvement with PPAP (Production Part Approval Process)

              Works closely with purchasing and suppliers of part components, tool and contracted services

              Evaluate and approve drawings, specs, and other documents

              Maintain and update manufacturing rates and records

              Represent manufacturing on cross functional teams

              Assist in quoting process and feasibility reviews

              Additional roles and responsibilities as assigned

 

Qualifications:

Must demonstrate an aptitude for the following: 

              BS Degree in Mechanical, Industrial, or Materials Science Engineering or related field

              2-5 years of experience in related role or field in a manufacturing environment

              Must be open-minded, flexible, and able to adapt easily and accept new ideas quickly

              Demonstrated ability to work multiple projects simultaneously and to prioritize and balance multiple tasks

              Ability to work independently and as part of a cross functional team

              Excellent organizational, problem solving, and verbal/written communication skills

              Good interpersonal skills and ability to build relationships with co-workers, customers and vendors at all levels in numerous functions

              Ability to troubleshoot complex processes

              Ability to read and understand 2D drawings including GD&T

              Proficient in computers and specific software; MS Project, CAD, Visio, Microsoft Office, Minitab

              Design and drafting experience, preferably using Solidworks

              Project management and Robotic  programming  experience is preferred

              CNC machining experience  along with Lean Manufacturing is preferred

              Experience with QRM & ISO

              Other preferred experience:  Working knowledge of SPC , and Six Sigma including DOE

              Ability to wear proper personal protective equipment (earplugs, safety glasses, respirator)

              Ability to lift 50 lbs.
