Our client, located in Cleveland, OH, has several openings for Medical Billing Specialists. These are temp-to-hire positions that will begin in mid June. The salary is $14-14.50 an hour (based upon experience). Hours are 8:00am-4:30pm, M-F (no weekends and overtime is voluntary).

Responsibilities:

  • Data entry: billing in formation into Accounts Receivable system: Demographic Information (DOB, address, guarantor, payer), and Charge Information (procedure, DX, Ordering Provider).
  • Follow-up: follow-up on unpaid Accounts Receivable including: review of follow-up work ques, refining and resolving of unpaid claims, phone calls to insurance companies, deposit and receipt information, adjusting information, comments, updating A/R system with correspondence from patients, insurances, clients, and insurance denials.
  • Credit Processing: process refund requests.
  • Appeals: work to submit appeals in a timely manner and follow-up on appeals.
  • Patient Phone Contact: respond to phone calls and make necessary updates to A/R system, retrieve and respond to patient phone messages and patient credit card payments by phone.
  • Client contact: work with Ordering Providers to get missing information.
  • Prior Authorization: work with insurance companies to get Prior Authorizations.

Requirements/Work Environment:

  • High School Diploma.
  • Medical Billing background 1-2 years or more.
  • Medical Billing Certification/Laboratory billing knowledge is a plus.
  • CPT and ICD-9 and ICD-10, insurance company remittance terms and formats, and Workque Applications.
  • Microsoft office proficient; Excel (must know to create formulas in excel).
  • Assessments: Excel and Data Entry
  • Casual work environment (tennis shoes and jeans permitted).
  • 30 minute lunch break and two 15 minute breaks.
