Our Ozaukee County customer needs a Part-time Purchasing Assistant

 

Overview:

          Flexible start time 20-24 hours per week

          Starting salary - $17-19/hr.

          401K and Gain Sharing available

          You will provide the best possible support to the purchasing department to ensure the timely and cost effective purchase and delivery of materials, equipment, supplies, etc.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

          Process purchase orders according to departmental procedures, entering into computerized system and distributing/emailing to the appropriate party

          Manage assigned Suppliers and contact suppliers for RFQs

          Update Purchase Orders with Acknowledgements/due dates and cost

          Enter all other required purchasing department data into ERP system

          Purchasing  Managers back-up when PM is out of the office

          Maintain and update the vendor tracking spreadsheet for the monthly, quarterly and annual reports

          Provide updates to Production on required parts

          Provide Purchasing Manager with known shortages or inventory issues as they arise / resolve issues

          Order office supplies and other items as directed by the Purchasing Manager

          Expedite past due and urgent purchase orders

          From time to time participate on cross-functional continuous improvement teams

          Complete and organize all required records, paperwork, documents, filing, printing reports, assigned tasks, etc.

 

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

          Requires a two year post high school degree with 1 or more years of experience

          OR a high school diploma  and three or more years of progressively responsible related experience

 SKILLS:

          Be highly detail oriented with a focus on accuracy and timeliness in performing all duties and responsibilities

          Proficient in Microsoft Office and Syteline 8 ERP knowledge preferred

          Have strong written and verbal communication skills.  Communicate information one-on-one, in small group situations to vendors and other employees of the organization

          Requires the ability to operate a variety of standard business machines, such as a computer and keyboard, a calculator, telephone, FAX, photocopier, etc.
