Brooklyn, OH Company has an immediate need for a Temp-to-hire Buyer. Hours are 7:30 am 4 pm , M-F; salary is $20-25 an hour based upon experience.

Responsibilities:

          Maintains optimum inventory levels to ensure on-time deliveries meeting customer requirements while minimizing carrying costs and premium transportation charges.

          Coordinates with the suppliers to schedule delivery of materials, supplies, equipment, and services according to requirements of the company's operations.

          Supports Operations with an uninterrupted flow of materials and services for assigned items. Determines material requirements, places orders, schedules and expedites deliveries as required.

          Purchases materials and services competitively. Negotiates fair price, terms and conditions of sale, understands market forces and their affect on prices, understands supplier cost structure and has the ability to improve it.

          Investigates and solves problems resulting from material shortages, however caused.

          Manages the receiving functions of the company and oversees the storage of purchased parts and MRO items.

          Keeps abreast of new sources of supply to maximize use of just-in-time inventory practices.

          Ensures that the company's established procedures are followed in connection with all materials department functions.

          Maintains distribution inventory operations by collecting information; following policies and procedures; reporting needed changes.

          Maintains quality service by following organization standards.

          Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops

          Perform supplier audits.

          Prepares reports by collecting and analyzing data, preparing and reporting information against objectives

          Is responsible for the motivation and development of subordinates to optimize their performance and their personal and professional growth.

Requirements:

          Ability to work effectively with all levels of employees and management.

          Strong organizational and planning skills.

          Professional certification in Supply Chain Management, or equivalent qualifications and the ability to attain certification within at least two years or 2 years experience in buying or a 4-year degree with 1 year experience in operations and a good understanding of the purchasing function.

          Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to interact ethically and professionally with internal and external customers and suppliers.

          Computer experience with word-processing, spreadsheet, internet and main frame applications. Experience in Great Plains, Job Boss, Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook preferred.

          Analytical abilities to review material requirements, prices, costs and engineering drawings.
