CNC T/C Setup

Precision Machine Shop needs a CNC Lathe Setup Machinist.
The CNC Lathe Specialist Level A is responsible for running components through the CNC lathe machine(s) per print.
Run turning centers in conjunction with live tooling.
Preferred experience with Mazak and Mori-seiki lathes.
Produce parts off of the CNC lathe machine(s) per print.
Set-up, adjust and operate horizontal lathes to produce parts.
Ability to machine a wide variety of materials with close tolerances per print.
Bar feeder operation / set-up.
Live tooling operation / set-up.
Plan and improvise multi-tooled set-ups for special work.
Post programs on the shop floor machines.
Close tolerance and finish requirements.
Chuck, bar or fixture work having unusual shape and formed sections.
Set speeds and feeds, tooling and operational sequences prescribed for complex work.
Position and secure work piece(s) in machine.
Position tools in relationship to work piece.
Make all necessary fine adjustments to machine tool for critical work.
Follow CNC processes for machining the piece.
Use of a variety of precision measuring devices.
Assist in development and implementation of procedures and controls to promote efficient lean operations of the organization and ensure the groups follow those procedures and controls.
Ability to multi-task several jobs.
Ensure the completion of all paperwork, records, documents, etc.
Able to work overtime when requested to meet the needs of customer timelines.
Follow all clean up and housekeeping procedures.
Comply with all quality, safety, and sanitation regulations.
Support ISO 9001, LEAN manufacturing and 5S practices.

Ability to write reports, meetings minutes and procedures manuals.
Ability to effectively communicate with team members, management, vendors, customers, and other employees of the organization, including negotiating and conflict management.
Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry.
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as dimensions, tolerances, proportions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of abstract and concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
High School diploma or GED.
3+ years experience working a CNC lathe.
Entry level use of Microsoft software.
2 years experience programming and tool setup.
2nd shift 2:45 pm 1:45 am
$18 24/hr. based on experience
12% shift premium
