Brake Press Operator


Does working for a company that has been in the casting business for more than 30 years sound appealing?  How about a company that has room for advancement? Waukesha County customer has an immediate need for a Laser and/or Brake Press operator for their fast paced environment.


You ll perform a variety of duties to include: Perform set-ups and machine operations; load and edit programs; read blueprints and inspect finished parts.


Responsibilities for brake press operator or laser operator include:

         Understand G and M codes and Manual Data Input (MDI)

         Knowledge of set up and operation of CNC controlled machines to produce piece parts according to blueprint

         Edit CNC programs to make adjustments

         Read measuring tools (dial calipers, micrometers)

         Read and interpret engineering blueprints and work orders/instructions

         Perform manufacturing duties to meet daily production standards of quality and quantity

         Communicate machine down-time, shortages, scrap, delays when applicable


Qualifications for laser or brake press operator :

Education and Experience: 

         High school or general education degree (GED) required. 

         Read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. 

         Complete standardized written documentation and correspondence. 

         Professionally communicate in one-on-one and small group situations. 

         Ability to perform basic electronic tasks using computer software and Microsoft Office.


Working Conditions/Physical Demands laser or brake press operator:

         Environment is a modern production facility with heat and air conditioning

         While performing the duties of this job, the employee is generally required to stand; use hands and fingers to manipulate raw materials, finished parts and cutting tools 

         Ability to lift up to 10 pounds repetitively

         Ability to lift 11 to 50 pounds regularly

         Ability to lift 50 to 70 pounds, with assistance, occasionally


Hours:  2nd shift; 2:30 pm 11 pm, Monday Friday

Pay:  up to $18/hr. based on experience Plus $2.50/hr. shift premium
