$13.00-$14.00 an hour
General Machine Experience. Set up and familiar with tooling. CNC Lathes or Milling machines experience may be transferable.
Will be required to meet safety, quality and productivity goals for each job.
Responsible to keep safety above all else when operating equipment.
Tends planetary-type, threading-cutting machine that cuts interior and exterior threads in artillery shells, so that fittings, such as fuse caps, can be attached: Turns setscrews to secure position and depth of thread and to adapt compressed-air holding chuck to material.
Positions shell in machine and tightens chuck.
Math and computer skills, including basic calculator functions including conversions, determination of drill point lengths and depths, degrees of circumference and angles, and geometric shapes
Experience with performing operations on at least one of the following:
CNC Lathe, including facing, boring, drilling, single point threading and grooving.
CNC Mill, including roughing and finishing, face milling, end milling, drilling, tapping, boring, reaming, counter sinking, counter boring and chamfering.
Follows internal specifications and work instructions to manufactures braids according to the customer requirements.
High school diploma or GED is required.
Must be able to read a tape measure, micrometers, calipers, protractors, interpret tolerances and pay attention to detail.
Familiar with modern manufacturing techniques and materials.
Have knowledge of basic CNC.
Good working knowledge of math and geometry.
Demonstrates verbal and written communication skills to interact effectively with other people.
Must be able to lift and move up to 50 pounds with or without reasonable accommodation.
Must be able to work in standing/walking position in excess of eight hours a day.
Must be able to tolerate exposure to dust, fumes, noise, temperature and other elements in the shop area.
