Machine Operator/Processor

 

         $14-15/hr based on experience

         1st and 2nd shift available ( 6:30am-3:00pm on Mondays and Fridays and 6:30am-5:00pm Tuesdays thru Thursdays and 2 Saturdays a month 6:30am-11:30am, second shift hours are 4:30pm-3:00am Monday thru Friday)

 

 

PURPOSE OF POSITION:   Responsible for running the molders and shapers in support of the systems and schedules across veneering and within the rough mill factory. The rough milling manufacturing flows to support the assembly and finishing factory which is a critical path to completing millwork projects on-time and within budget.

Duties and Responsibilities

         Understand the overall picture of what is being made, and the time it will take to make the product

         Manage electronic system of all programs made by job and work orders

         Read and thoroughly understand all engineering drawings, and know how machined part related to the assembled drawing

         Organize drawings and cut tickets to create clear, concise information

         Run and monitor all molder and shaper set-up that necessitate extra care and attention to maintain proper safety and quality

         Feed and catch materials at the ends of machinery; such as ripsaw, molder, planner, re-saw, sand-master and shapers; including tagging and inspecting for quality and altering operator if necessary

         Pre-gluing solid lumber pieces together with frequency gluer

         Machining of raw and finished sized parts with various machinery (i.e. crosscut saw, band saw, jointer, table-saw, pin-router and shapers)

         Tag, mark, and apply labels to appropriate materials

  • As standard protocol develops, learn and use any new software tools to continue efficient and timely completion of assigned tasks

Requirements: Skills & Knowledge/Qualifications

         3-5 years prior machine experience running millwork shapers, molders and rip saws

         Solid hands-on experience working in architectural millwork will be considered

         Strong verbal communication skills

         Must be able to work as a team

         Ability to work in a dynamic environment
