SUMMARY OF POSITION
The Facility Maintenance Technician is responsible for facilitating and executing the maintenance, preventive maintenance and housekeeping of the Avon Facility, to include all facility equipment, building systems, finishes and furnishings, grounds and all services necessary for daily operations. The Facility Maintenance Technician will interact with outside contractors and all departments within the facility on a regular basis, while also supporting the security and safety team.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Execute and facilitate the daily maintenance and housekeeping of the building, grounds and equipment, by making repairs as needed, adhering to preventive maintenance schedules and collaborating with outside contractors.
Supporting the security and safety team, by conducting audits to ensure compliance with facility and OSHA requirements, assist with the monthly testing of the fire suppression system, participate in safety meetings and on occasion, speak on safety topics during huddles.
Assist with projects, retrofits and the coordination of any outside contractors, who may be working onsite.
Prepare room set-ups for meetings and special events.
Handle facility requests and complete in a timely manner.
Responsible for managing repairs of company vehicles, the maintenance shop, equipment, tools and supplies inventories.
Manage the snow removal process by ensuring equipment is maintained and ready for use, have adequate supplies on hand, and staffing and subcontractors have been coordinated.
Assist in the maintenance and testing of the various systems, i.e. fire suppression, controlled access, video surveillance, HVAC, etc.
Responsible for changing light bulbs, outlets and ballasts, troubleshooting and working with 120 and 277 voltages.
Responsible for changing faucets, replacing flush valves and installing sink drain piping.
Responsible for drywall repair to include patching holes, cutting in outlet boxes, making small repairs, finish work, priming and painting.
Performs other duties as assigned.
JOB REQUIREMENTS and QUALIFICATIONS
Candidate should possess 3-5 yrs. maintenance experience in an industrial or agricultural/construction environment.
Experience in electrical, plumbing and drywall repair
Grounds maintenance experience and/or operating an ATV, tractor, forklift and/or dump truck.
Must possess good verbal and written communication skills and be courteous.
Candidate must thrive in a team environment, working with other departments and outside contractors.
Organization and attention to detail are key.
Basic computer skills including using the internet and Microsoft Office Suite for maintaining work logs and inventory.
Experience with safety rules and regulations, either practicing, administrating or participating on a safety team is very desirable.
Must be able to work with minimal supervision.
