Machine Assembler - Completely assemble custom built automatic weighing equipment and package handling systems from assembly prints or specifications sheet, using standard hand tools. Test completed units to ensure proper functioning and adherence to specifications and is of the highest quality. Assist in packing and crating tested units for shipment.
Carpenter (as required /assigned) - Fabrication of machine shipping skids and crates
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Assembly of mechanical subassemblies. Responsible for acquiring the necessary parts from stock locations and other departments, final assembly, testing and repair as required, and the completion of all necessary documentation for mechanical subassemblies required for inventory and spare parts kits.
Assembly, testing and documentation of Machines. Responsible for acquiring all necessary parts from stock locations, preparing parts for assembly, assembly of all components and subassemblies into a completed machine including all necessary drilling, tapping, punching and modification of those parts, testing and operation of machine to specifications, modification of machine to meet specifications as required, completely documenting the final unit and preparing machine for shipment.
Measure, construct, and deliver standard or special shipping crates.
Interconnection and termination of Controls to Machines. Responsible for wiring splices, termination s and hook-ups as required.
Demonstrate manufactured products. Responsible for providing assistance in the demonstration, explanation and training on manufactured products to actual and prospective Customers.
Assembly and maintenance of mechanical test equipment. Responsible for the design, assembly, testing, documentation and maintenance of mechanical test equipment for manufactured products.
Assist with mechanical training on test equipment and manufactured products to clients personnel and representatives. Responsible for providing assistance with training on manufactured mechanical products and test equipment, including the creation and updating of documentation and procedures, as required.
Aid in the layout of standard and special mechanical assemblies. Responsible for aiding Engineering in the layout of parts on machines and subassemblies, all drilling, tapping and punching of holes, and assisting in the final documentation of the assembly.
Maintain parts stocked in Mechanical Work Centers. Responsible for cycle count, verifying quantities from receiving and placing parts in their correct stock location.
Run errands outside of building (IE to warehouse or vendors) as required.
Perform other duties as required to maintain production schedule. Responsible for assisting other Work Centers and Departments in daily activities to help meet Customer and Production commitments.
High School Diploma (required).
Basic electrical background, blueprint reading, previous machine shop experience helpful.
Good mechanical and organization skills
Basic Carpentry skills helpful
Ability to handle light to heavy work, frequently lifting of 20 to 30 pounds, and on rare occasions, up to 75 pounds.
Motivated individual possessing the ability to work independently, with minimal supervision.
Must be able to: apply common sense in understanding and carrying out instructions furnished in oral, written and Diagrammatic form; locate and identify problems involving technical set up and operating malfunctions, take measurements, and use technical mathematics.
Ability to work a flexible schedule and overtime as needed.
Pay rate: $14 - $18/hour, must go through formal interview process
