  Hammond, Indiana Insulation Distribution facility is seeking a Quality Assurance Inspector.

1st Shift, Monday Friday, 7:00AM-3:30PM

Weekly pay - Vision - Dental - Health  Insurance - 401K

$17.00/hr - $680.00 weekly

  SUMMARY & GOALS:
Quality Assurance Inspector is responsible for ensuring DI products meet the established standards of quality; including reliability, usability and performance. Assisting in establishing an ISO based quality system and d ocumenting lean initiatives in the Fabrication Shop. Tracking and publishing quality metrics . Reducing the number of quality incidents.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS:

Perform quality audits to verify picking accuracy, replenishment accuracy, packaging, palletizing and loading of outbound trucks and inbound receiving accuracy

Approves incoming materials by confirming specifications, conducting visual and measurement tests; rejecting and returning unacceptable materials

Approves in-process production by confirming specifications, conducting visual and measurement tests; communicating required adjustments to Fabrication Manager.

Approves finished products by confirming specifications; conducting visual and measurement tests, returning products for re-work, confirming re-work

Documents inspection results by completing reports and logs, summarizing re-work and waste, inputting data into quality database.

Collect and compile statistical quality data

Responsible for document management systems

Assure ongoing compliance with quality and industry regulatory requirements

SKILLS :
Manage performance of Continuous Improvement metrics

Make accurate judgments and decisions with regards to quality issues

  REQUIREMENTS:

Certifications including Quality Inspector, Quality Improvement Associate, Six Sigma would be a plus

Quality inspection, auditing and testing experience

Experience with corrective action programs

Product or industry-specific experience

Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office and databases

Knowledge of tools, concepts and methodologies of QA

Knowledge of relevant regulatory requirements

Must be able to work a split shift to support both shifts
Must be able to stand for prolonged periods of time

Mobility within the warehouse and office space

Ability to work in hot and cold environments
