The Assurance Quality Technician performs incoming inspection of small to large size parts with close tolerances and in-process inspection of components produced by Riddell. This position conducts outgoing quality audits of manufactured products for conformance to BOM s and assembly prints.
Performs NOCSAE testing.
Records data and maintains and files inspection reports.
Assists in the preparation of special quality tests/reports as required.
Performs visual and instrument-aided inspections.
Maintains testing equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements and schedules.
Operates and uses all equipment following standard work instructions and operating procedures.
Notifies Supervisor/Quality Technician when inspection data exceeds acceptable limits or when incidents of poor quality are noted.
Observes all safety rules and regulations.
Exercises care and good judgment at all times to prevent accidents and injuries.
Practices good housekeeping by keeping work area clean.
Maintains quality records acting as the Quality Control s Department clerk as required.
Assists in simple engineering projects when required.
Performs other duties and tasks as assigned.
Education and Training:
High School Degree or GED required.
Associate s Degree in Quality Control preferred.
Two-four (2-4) years of quality testing/inspection experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
Proficient at reading and interpreting engineering blue prints.
Proficient at using a wide variety of measurement test equipment such as dial calipers, hardness gauges, pin gauges, thread gauges, tensile testing equipment, etc.
Good understanding and knowledge of ASQ procedures with regard to using AQL s along with sampling requirements.
Solid math skills and problem solving skills.
Proficiency using MS Office applications including Word, Excel and Access.
Proficient at understanding and following quality control guidelines, instructions and charts.
