         The responsibility of a Team Captain is to assist in meeting daily targeted goals as outlined by the Team Leader.

         Coordinate the daily operations through assigning, monitoring and reviewing accuracy of team members work and providing technical guidance.

         Team captains are responsible for the successful training and development of all team members in accordance with standard work practices and training documents.

         Team captains will lead and direct a team of four or more team members.


Key Duties:

         Train, coach, and develop team members through the use of Job Instruction Sheets to ensure standard work is followed.

         Arrange staffing in cells to meet daily work; communicate vision of daily production targets

         Ensure team members have the correct tools to complete their daily tasks and assure they are in good working condition

         Responsible for team members accuracy of work

         Initiate daily work improvements through Training Within Industries methodologies

         Monitor processes, materials, or surroundings reviewing information from; materials, events, or the environment, to detect or assess issues or possible problems

         Promote a safe work environment

         Cultivate an environment of respect and give prompt feedback to team members ideas

         Cultivate a Lean culture providing team members the opportunity for continual improvements

         Maintain professional communication and provide constructive feedback to staff

         Provide notification of company policy violations to your team leader

         Conduct daily 5S audits and promote 5-S initiatives

         Understand CNC programming formats, G and M codes and Manual Data Input (MDI)

         Knowledge of set up and operation of CNC machines to produce piece parts according to blueprint

         Edit CNC programs to make adjustments

         Read measuring tools (dial calipers, micrometers)

         Read and interpret engineering blueprints and work orders/instructions

         Operate manual mills, lathe, drill presses and orbital rivet machine

         Perform manufacturing duties to meet daily production standards of quality and quantity

         Complete required part inspection and properly record part count and verification of quality

         Support daily work improvements through Training Within Industries methodologies

         Communicate machine down-time, shortages, scrap, delays when applicable






         High School diploma or GED required.

         Additional training in supervisory management courses preferred.

         Two years work experience in a related field and 1 year experience leading personnel.

         Qualified applicant must possess experience with maintaining inventory accuracy in addition to production scheduling, training staff, and team building.

         Lean Manufacturing principles a plus.

         Read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.

         Perform written documentation and correspondence.

         Professionally communicate one-on-one and in groups.

         Ability to perform tasks using computer software and Microsoft Office.
