Clamp Truck Operator
 
Our client is an industry leader in the Danville, VA area.  Due to service expansion, we are currently searching for motivated self-starters to fill their open positions.
 
Duties include:
  1. Drives electric-powered industrial truck equipped with lifting to push, pull, lift, stack, tier, or move products, equipment, or materials in warehouse, storage yard, or factory.
  2. Moves levers and presses pedals to drive truck and control movement of lifting apparatus. Positions forks, lifting platform, or other lifting device under, over, or around loaded pallets, skids, boxes, products, or materials or hooks tow trucks to trailer hitch, and transports load to designated area. 
  3. Unloads and stacks material in appropriate locations by raising and lowering lifting device.  Loads tractor trailers with outgoing product.  May inventory materials on work floor. 
  4. Weigh materials or products and record weight on tags, labels, or production schedules. May load or unload materials onto or off of pallets, skids, or lifting device. 
  5. Keeps work area clean by sweeping / shoveling loose tobacco 
 
Requirements include:
  1. Ability to perform repetitive tasks and lift up to 50 lbs
  2. Must have at least 2 years previous clamp truck experience.  
  3. Teamwork, Coordination, Dependability.  
  4. Must be able to pass a drug screen and background check.
