Nonprofit Response Team Member
$19 - $20/hr | Louisiana Street
Monday – Friday 8 am – 5 pm

We seek a compassionate, caring, motivated team member to assist the Client Response Department for a nonprofit organization near downtown Houston. This role will contact refugees/clients and ensure the team is responding to refugee resettlements.  This is project-based with no end date. A Client Response Team Member is responsible for triaging clients and finding rapid solutions. This role will track metrics, and reports and identify trends for areas of improvement. The successful candidate will be solution-oriented and skilled at consumer responsiveness in a timely manner.

 What You Will Do in This Role:
  • Contact qualifying refugees to inform them of enrollment, and the process to determining eligibility 
  • Answer the phone or email contacts from clients or from spreadsheets to contact client(s) with concerns and offer a  quick resolution and compliance of eligibility criteria
  • Review of ongoing processes for improvement within teams working and Lead
  • Verify that all required eligibility is available and correct 
  • Prepare paperwork to ensure that qualifying clients receive emergency financial 
  • Verify the accuracy of receipts, invoices, or records for refugee check requests on a weekly basis
  • Track expenses using spreadsheets and databases
  • Participating in and conducting training regarding processes to  ensure accurate client documentation 
  • Communicate and update team members with updates and document information accurately  
 What You Will Need for This Role:
  • High School or GED
  • Flexible in work schedule shift times
  • Ability to work with diverse communities 
  • Adhere to Texas Family Code {261.101}, Reporting Suspected Child Abuse and Neglect
  • Must have own transportation to conduct job-related travel and must be able to drive agency vehicles as needed
  • 2 years of high volume, call center or customer service and support experience
  • Bilingual in Spanish/English, written/verbal (preferred)
  • Nonprofit experience (preferred)
  • Flexible and effective team player, able to adapt to changes and a busy workplace environment
  • Excellent organizational skills and self-motivated
  • Excellent written/verbal communication and people skills
  • Intermediate MS Office: Word, Excel, and searching the internet
  • Ability to work under pressure, address multiple priorities and meet deadlines
  • Ability to problem-solve 
  • Be a 3rd party person from programmatic teams to assist clients in documenting concerns or formal client grievance
