You will help develop media content for the community health education program and proofread and edit all content to post on various Social Media platforms. Communications Specialist’s Responsibilities
  • Develop culturally and linguistically appropriate multimedia content for community health education messaging, including artwork, illustrations, print collateral, photography, audio, and video. 
  • Perform basic typesetting, layout and design, paste-up, and other camera-ready processing operations; Proofread and edit on camera-ready work. 
  • Handle equipment maintenance, supply inventory, and delivery or routing of printer materials; Aid departmental volunteers and other department employees. 
  • Write, edit, and proofread copy for printed materials and television.
  • Coordinate shooting and production, responsibilities of the video cameraman, production and postproduction of videos. 
Communications Specialist’s Qualifications
  • bachelor’s degree in art, design, communications, typography, or a closely related field is required.
  • A minimum of 1 year of experience in media, public relations, art, or a closely related field is required.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish is highly preferred but not required.
  • Experience with content management with Social Media Platforms (i.e., Twitter, Flickr, Snapchat, YouTube, etc.) and Adobe Creative Suite is required.
  • Must have a Valid Texas Driver’s License
  • Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen and criminal background check.
