Resource Staffing is seeking an organized, meticulous Credentialing Coordinator II for a major healthcare organization in the Houston Medical Center to provide information regarding their staff’s medical credentials. The demand for reviewing medical credentials has increased because of the increased demand for patient care. Because of this, we are seeking a coordinator who will track license and certification expirations and confirm renewals by updating credentials.
Credentialing Coordinator’s Duties and Responsibilities:
- Analyze and process initial and reappointment applications for a healthcare system credentialed of healthcare staff in compliance with medical regulatory agency requirements
- Maintains knowledge of DNV standards, CMS medical staff Federal and state requirements relative to credentialing activities
- Tracks license and certification expirations to ensure providers fulfill their renewal requirements
- Maintains and updates demographic information, changes in privileges, resignations, and ongoing credentials verifications upon expiration
- Process requests for temporary privileges
- Maintains accurate Credentialed Staff data in multiple systems
- Research issues related to any healthcare practitioner credentialing material
- Assists in collecting statistical/analytical data, i.e. OPPE/FPPE data
- Manages the sign-off process and securing signatures
- Assist with external audits
Credentialing Coordinator’s Requirements:
- High School Diploma or GED
- Certificate Provider Credit Specialist or CPMSM Preferred
- Two (2) Years of work experience as a healthcare practitioner credentialing
- Verbal/Written Additional details
- Heavy Public Contact
- Strong written and verbal communication
- MS Office Suite including MS Excel, MS Word
- Analytical Abilities
- Medical terminology research, statistical and transcription knowledge
