Credit & Collections Coordinator [Direct Hire]
$24 - $26 /hr.  | Houston, TX 77051
Monday – Friday 8 am – 5 pm

We are seeking a Commercial Credit and Collections Coordinator to lead the collections of outstanding commercial debts for a leading pipe and valve company located near Holmes Road. In this role, you will work with the Credit Manager to review and monitor commercial accounts and contact clients who are delinquent to help establish a payment plan. You will be responsible for reviewing credit information to establish credit limits, initiating collection calls, reconciling accounts and other credit and collections tasks. This person will identify and manage credit exposure on Customer Accounts, initiate appropriate action, and maintain customer records for all business operations. Customer service, negotiation and conflict resolution skills are crucial in this position. Enjoy excellent compensation and benefits by working with an expanding pipe and valve company. 
 
Responsibilities:
  • Review, evaluate and extend credit report information to potential accounts
  • Interpret financial statements to assess creditworthiness and exposure risk
  • Prepare legal documentation to secure payment and provide legal action for past-due accounts
  • Establish and maintain effective and cooperative working relationships with inside and outside customers
  • Credit Managers,  Accounts Receivable team, business locations, sales staff, and billing department
  • Assist team members with escalated collection calls and daily operations
  • Provide backup and support to other departments  
  • Review assigned accounts and initiate collection action by contacting each
  • Reconcile and provide discrepancies project recaps documentation (i.e. copy of quotes, invoices, bills of lading, change orders, etc.)
  • Initiate collection action, short pay and dispute resolution and customer file record maintenance
  • Proactively research customer issues with locations and/or billing departments for timely resolutions
 To Be Successful, You Will Need:
  • Must have a high school diploma or local/state equivalent—undergraduate degree preferred.
  • 3 -5  years of experience in commercial Credit and Collections
  • Proven ability to overcome obstacles and get results
  • Being bilingual is a huge plus 
  • Must be able to handle difficult situations in a professional manner
  • Must have the ability to review and interpret purchase orders 
  • Ability to use independent judgment with confidential information 
  • Strong negotiation, oral, analytical and problem-solving skills 
  • Must be able to work OT if needed ( 3 – 5 hours per day)
  • Must be detail-oriented, diligent and able to work well in a fast-paced environment
  • Working knowledge in Microsoft Excel and Word
