DO YOU ALIGN WITH THESE KEY QUALIFICATIONS?
• Graduate of an accredited Registered Nurse Program. 
• 3–5 years’ clinical nursing experience in an acute care and/or long-term care setting. 
• 3 –5 years experience with supervisory and management responsibility in a healthcare setting. 
• RN License in good standing with the State of Michigan. 
• BLS required.
• Excellent knowledge of and commitment to, the principles and practices of continuous quality improvement. 
• Experience developing and maintaining departmental budgets. 
 
WHAT WILL YOU DO?   
• Maintain current knowledge of the requirements of agencies and organizations that regulate, accredit hospitals and long-term care units. 
• Develop, maintain, and enforce departmental policies and procedures that meet the requirements of pertinent regulatory agencies and organizations. 
• Develop and implement an annual operating plan that includes business/nursing objectives, volume goals, staffing plans, and operational improvement objectives. 
• Analyze work processes and develop plans for improving departmental productivity and efficiency. 
• Interview and hire department staff within the policies and procedures established by the Hospital Human Resources Department and conduct periodic performance appraisals on all staff.
• Coach employees in a participative management environment to ensure employee growth and development and, when appropriate, discipline employees to correct unacceptable behaviors. 
• Plan in conjunction with CNO, annual budget, including personnel, supplies, and overhead expenses. 
• Directly supervises departmental administrative assistant and Nursing Supervisor/MDS Coordinator/Infection Control Nurse and with the Quality Improvement, Infection Control Manager. 
• Directly supervises all registered nurses, LPN’s, and nurse aides. 
• Serves as “Administrator on Call” for LTC in rotation with LTC Nursing Supervisor.
