Duties of the ehs coordinator:

Plans and implements safety and environmental policies and procedures in compliance with local, state, and federal rules and regulations. This includes written programs, recordkeeping, reports, inspections, monitoring, testing, and training. Employee also remains current in changing EHS regulations.
Participates in planning and implementation of programs to train managers and employees in work site safety practices, including but not limited to fire prevention, correct handling techniques for chemicals, toxins, equipment, and other materials, blood borne pathogens, hazardous communication, lockout/tagout, emergency action plans and more.
Provides information, signs, posters, barriers, and other materials to warn of potential and actual safety hazards and to prevent access to hazardous conditions.
Conducts monthly environmental recordkeeping and inspections as needed to assure compliance with applicable permits, regulations, and requirements.
Assists with management of EHS programs, including cost control/reduction and accident prevention/ reduction, safety behavior audit and risk assessment programs.
Coordinates safety and ERT committees and required meetings/trainings.

Qualifications of the ehs coordinator:

2-4 years - Equivalent combination of education and/or experience in the EHS field
Bachelor’s Degree Preferred

Starting pay of $25.00-$26.50 / hr based on experience
