New Hartford, Connecticut 6 months contract-to-hire assignment for an Embedded Systems/Controls Engineer



  • Will design, develop, and test embedded firmware applications.
  • Develop new controls applications as well as maintain and test existing ones.
  • Create documentation for new firmware applications and update existing ones.
  • Participate in design and code reviews for company products.
  • Work effectively in a small team over many different areas of expertise.



  • Five plus years of experience developing embedded firmware in C/C++ required.
  • Must be highly motivated, self-reliant and goal-driven to participate as a member of a cross-functional team.
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) and a proven ability to work well in a team environment.
  • Five plus years of control related design experience.
  • Understanding of basic control techniques and communications protocols such as I2C, SPI, UART, and generic GPIO.
  • Experience working with network security and protocols such as AES encryption over TCPIP is a plus.
  • Microcontroller development over a wide range of CPUs such as Microchip/Atmel, Freescale/NXP, etc. Familiar with NXP debugging tools and utilities is a plus.
  • Experience using schematic programs such as OrCad is a plus.
  • Bachelor s degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science required
