Human Resources/Safety Manager

A dynamic manufacturing team in Savannah, GA is seeking a quality individual to join their team in the role of Human Resource/Safety Manager. The HR/S Manager is a key component to our organization and needs to be well-versed in all areas of human resources including recruitment and selection, compensation, safety, training and development, and employee relations. Qualified candidates should have 3-5 years of experience in an HR capacity, preferably in a manufacturing environment.


Job Duties:
Conducts interviews with potential candidates and ensures new hire process is completed according to established company guidelines.
Act as the liaison between the employees, outside staffing agencies, and production management team.
Conduct new hire orientation and on-boarding programs in alignment with team culture.
Turnover and retention analysis and mitigation.
Forecast and positive action of staffing requirements.
Documents all employee relations activity.
Provide management team support with the discipline and separation process.
Establishes key metrics for the HR and Safety functions and reports out on same.
Maintains up-to-date knowledge to ensure organizational compliance with all legal and regulatory requirements and providing HR advice to management.
Produce and maintain employee qualification files (Background checks, Drug screens, Job Training etc.).
Manage plant safety program to reduce safety hazards. Knowledge of OSHA rules and regulations is required.
Performs, records, and disseminates information from regular facility inspections, safety audits, and other observations, providing ideas and assistance towards correction of issues discovered and completes follow-up to ensure effective measures are taken.
Recognizes and teaches unsafe acts, unsafe condition mitigation.
Provides leadership and guidance of current and future safety groups such as the safety steering committee.
Maintains accurate documentation, safety files records and training database and OSHA record keeping

Qualifications:
Must have strong interpersonal skills
Computer Literate Strong excel skills and the ability to use Outlook
Ability to interact with others on a professional level.
Integrity, honesty and confidentiality abilities a must*.
Must be able to work independently and in a team environment.
Bi-lingual English/Spanish a plus
Leadership qualities to include ability to guide a team to new places .
Education and Experience
Knowledge of Federal and Georgia State Laws/DOL guidelines.
Background in production and processing
Must have a proven track record of safety program development with solid results.
Minimum of 4 solid years of HR experience in a Manufacturing Environment
Degree or certification(s) in applicable fields
Experience:
human resources: 4 years (Required)
Safety Program Development: 3 years (Required)
