Manufacturer of pan mixers is seeking an Industrial Painter for their Waukesha county plant.
Duties for the Industrial Painter include:
Apply prepared paints, lacquers or enamels to a variety of industrial steel products where high grade, durable and occasionally decorative finishes are required.
Consistently and efficiently apply base and top coat application through utilization of multiple painting techniques and equipment adjustments to meet or exceed general and company paint application standards.
Must clean and prepare all necessary steel products using a variety of cleaning solvents and detergents prior to applying base coat.
Work with supervisor, shop manager and other personnel to properly plan, organize and prioritize projects to efficiently maximize daily work load.
Must be able to manage and maintain on-hand quantities of paint, supplies, filters and other related items to ensure continuous work flow.
Maintain equipment, paint booth and surrounding area in a safe, clean and proper working condition. Work assignments are given regular process checks and final inspection.
Secondary duties for the Industrial Painter include:
Apply prepared paints, lacquers or enamels to products where medium quality finish is required.
Thin paints to proper consistency and viscosity for spraying or brushing application and adjust equipment to obtain the finish requirements and economy.
May do masking and two-toning and operate drying equipment.
Positive attitude with regard to any paint touch up and re-work necessary after completion of initial paint projects.
Minimal Requirements for the Industrial Painter include:
3 years as a lead painter in an industrial, manufacturing or similar environment
Ability to plan, prioritize and organize daily workloads
Self starter able to complete tasks with little or no supervision
Walk or stand for long periods of time
Operate machinery such as forklifts, overhead cranes, pallet jacks, load lifters, small cranes and other company authorized equipment
Ability to climb, stand or walk on ladders, platforms or other elevated structures
High School Diploma or GED equivalent
Familiar with factory and/or manufacturing environment as it relates to safety procedures, standards and OSHA requirements.
Secondary or trade school diploma
Preferred - 6+ years as a painter in an industrial, manufacturing or similar environment
1st shift; Monday-Thursday, 6 am 4:30 pm; overtime on Friday
Position is scheduled as 1st shift but requires the flexibility to work 2nd and/or overtime shifts based on demand as dictated by daily work load, supervisor or shop manager.
$17-19/hr. based on experience
