Maintenance Technician

Our customer who is a global leader in innovative flooring and sports surface manufacturing is seeking an experienced Multi-craft maintenance person with an emphasis on electrical to join their successful and growing team in Middlefield, Ohio. This person will maintain a large manufacturing facility that operates 24/7. Maintenance will include electrical, plumbing, machine and tooling, forklifts and lift truck equipment.

Duties:
Read and understand technical information, data points & demonstrate solid mathematical skills
Engineer new equipment and/or plumbing; high voltage to low voltage installation maintenance
Trouble shoot machines, install controllers & counters & AC-DC motor controls, works frequently with 480 voltage
Order new or replacement maintenance parts according to company ordering process
Contain and clean up hazardous waste spills
Maintain blueprints
Use gas welding/cutting and milling machines to repair and build machine guards
Knowledge of hi and low pressure systems
Knowledge and use of plumbing and electrical installation and repair tools
Rebuild valves, cylinders, pumps, air tools and spray guns
Troubleshoot hydraulic systems, including repair or replacement of hydraulic valves, pumps, hoses, gear boxes. Re-engineer problem machines, design changes done to equipment, make and change knife blades, knowledge of rigging
Weld molds and make guide pins for molds; make and repair hinges and heat platinum
Service tow motors and electric forklifts including battery charges, belts, horns, lights, wiring, tires and hoses
Maintain or repair the boiler/compressor, roof and HVAC systems
Start various pumps, compressors, blowers, chillers, presses to ensure production can begin at any time
Must observe all safety rules and regulations
Use tools and equipment: welding, cutting, standard hand tools, pneumatic/power tools, drill press, milling machine, lathe, hoists, forklift, hydraulic lift tables, basic carpentry tools, meters/PLC, metal shearer
Computer experience in SAP, Excel, Mesabi, preferred
Knowledge of Key Performance Indicators for maintenance department
WCM Tools knowledge and/or experience


Requirements:
Ability to comply with existing safety standards
At least eight years related experience and 3 years in a manufacturing plant environment
Ability to multi-task and prioritize
Ability to work flexible hours in a 24/7 manufacturing operation
Excellent listening and communication skills/interpersonal skills
High School diploma or equivalent required
Ability to stand, walk, bend, twist 80% of the workday and move throughout a 220,000 square foot non-climate controlled distribution center, enter truck trailers and operate machines
Able to work in temperature extremes
Operate tow-motor, reach truck and stock picker as needed.
Able to push, pull, lift 3 to 75 lbs. frequently during shift.
