MTR Coordinator [Materials Test Coordinator]
$18 - $20/hr. | Southwest Houston
Monday – Friday 8 am – 5 pm
Temp-To-Hire
Join a Texas leading manufacturer of carbon and stainless pipe, fittings, and flanges as their new MTR Coordinator to coordinate and expedite material test reports from receiving, vessel department, or suppliers in Southwest Houston The ideal candidate is an excellent communicator familiar with office administration systems and software. We are seeking an organized MTR (Material Test Coordinator) who has, attention to detail, and an aptitude for creating and following requirements and schedules. This position is key to maintaining important records and documentation.
As a Team Member, You Will Enjoy:
- Maintain quality documentation for all stocking mills
- Educate, train and promote hazard recognition as a means of identifying potential threats
- Provide 1st responder medical care to employees as well as initiate industrial hygiene surveillance testing
- Request documents needed to maintain mills
- Assist in claims processing, track non-conformance, and responses
- Review procedural documents for quality and safety
- Assist department manager with vendor/mill audits
- Become an internal auditor and support quality committee meetings
- Assist and support branches with all MTR assistance
- Assist in training employees as needed
Competencies/Skills/Education You Will Need:
- High School Diploma or GED
- Five (5) years experience in an industrial/distribution environment minimum
- Certifications in areas of quality are a plus
- Ability to train and lead large or small groups at all levels of the organization
- Liaison to ensure all corporate initiatives are carried out at all locations
- Ability to write, interpret and execute quality procedures and policies
- Intermediate to advanced skills with Microsoft Excel and Word
- Excellent skills in communication both verbal and written
- Preferably bilingual: Spanish
