Well established manufacturer seeking an experienced, energetic, self-starting, highly skilled Maintenance Mechanic. This position installs, maintains, and repairs machinery, equipment, physical structures and will be responsible for preventative maintenance as well as reactive maintenance.
Troubleshoot, repair, and/or fabricate machinery in a timely, efficient, safe and accurate manner while keeping impact on production as minimal as possible.
Plan repair procedures in advance of beginning a job.
Fabricate parts, perform skilled fitting and aligning as required using precision measuring instruments for exacting measurements.
Expedite repairs for unscheduled maintenance jobs in most efficient and timely procedure.
Maintain vehicles and support equipment for all departments.
Work from drawings, specifications, and job layouts provided by Supervisor or Plant Engineer.
Find and order parts when needed.
Perform duties as instructed for the following specific duties, but not limited to:
Basic electrical troubleshooting, repair, installation, and/or maintenance; Welding; Millwright ;Pneumatic; Hydraulics; Vacuum mechanical troubleshooting; Carpentry; Painting; Plumbing repair or installation; Woodworking duties; Metalworking duties; Janitorial; Installation, assembly, movement, or disassembly of machinery.
Contribute to the general housekeeping, upkeep, and organization of the department and tooling
Performance of all duties in a safe and ergonomically correct manner
Perform any assignments as instructed by department head, supervisor, or assigned lead person in department.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to read and interpret ruler measurements.
Must be proficient on a lathe, mill, surface grinder, band saw, and welding. All of the above, with an eye to maintaining and improving product quality, productivity and personnel safety.
Mechanical aptitude that includes hydraulics, pneumatics, machining, and engineering specifications with blue prints and technical manuals.
5-7 years of maintenance mechanic experience
Good mechanical aptitude
Training in Lean principles.
Good communication skills and the ability to work well with others.
Good time management skills and organization skills.
Working knowledge of Excel, Word and Access software programs.
Hours: 3rd shift 10:30 pm 6:30 am; Sunday Thursday
Pay: $25-28/hr. based on experience
