We are seeking an experience manual horizontal boring bar operator to join the team in Germantown, WI.
This position is responsible for the setup and operation of large boring bars to bore, mill and drill a variety of work where skill is required to maintain close tolerances on sizes and related dimensions.
Setup involves the aligning and securing of large irregular work pieces and/or smaller complicated work pieces.
Selects speeds and feeds, tooling, and operational sequences within limits of standard practices to perform for a variety of operations such as line boring, step cutting, face milling, etc. subject to process and final inspection.
Works from drawings and specifications using precision measuring instruments incidental to the operations.
Will use hoists and/or overhead cranes, lifts, positions and secures work pieces on tables using bolts, jigs, clamps and shims, and observes drilling or boring machine operation to detect any problems. Cleans up and deburrs completed work pieces.
Assists with required maintenance and repair on the boring bar and is responsible for such other duties as assigned.
Skills and Experience:
HS grad plus 3-5 years related experience
Continued technical school a strong plus!
Knowledge of machining practices and some ability to interpret machining instructions, blue prints, job orders, and other schematics.
Knowledge of different materials and their machinability also a plus.
Ability to monitor running machines, to utilize and read a wide variety of precision measuring instruments and good math capability.
Shift, Pay, and Benefits:
1st shift - 7 am - 3:30 pm
$16 - 24/hr. BOE
