Medical Billing and Coding Specialist’s Responsibilities

Review medical record documentation to identify pertinent diagnoses and procedures that require coding.
Effectively utilize ICD 10, CPT, HPCPS, modifiers, and other codes according to coding guidelines.
Conduct audits and coding reviews to ensure accurate and precise documentation.

Medical Billing and Coding Specialist’s Qualifications

A High School Diploma or GED and 3 years of experience with medical claims billing/coding and medical insurance industry is required.
Essential knowledge in and out of network insurance, Workers' Compensation, insurance verification, patient responsibility, and process for prior authorization is required.
Familiarity with ICD-10 and CPT codes and procedures is required.
