Job Title: Optical Technician

Available Shifts: (6am – 2:30pm M-F) / (6a - 4:30p Sat - Tue) / (2p - 10:30p Mon - Fri)

Department Slab Fabrication

Job Description:

Fabricate crystal materials per specification and production schedule with an emphasis on multi-wire saw operations, including rod grooving and substrate slicing
Operator will be responsible for all aspects of fabrication of multi-block parts, including blocking, beveling, grinding, polishing, final inspection, and packaging of crystal products that are worked in the area
Carr out preventive maintenance tasks of the wire saws, planetary grinder, and other equipment in Slab/Precision Fabrication areas
Follow technical work instructions, understand engineering blueprints, and be responsible for maintaining tooling and a clean and organized work area

Job Specifications:

Ability to work with small parts – manual dexterity is required for handling laser rods, slabs, and other precision optics/parts
High School Diploma or GED required
Basic understanding of metrology is required with an ability to learn advanced techniques.
Good verbal and written communication skills are required
Good visual acuity

Hazardous Materials: Acetone, Alcohol, Safety Strip, and cutting/grinding/polishing slurries
