Hours: 9:30 6 pm, M-F.
Pay: $12.50 14.50.
Obtaining all the necessary information to perform data entry and dispensing accurately.
Dispense prescription orders (fill and label) for review by the pharmacist.
Answering the phones and assist in contacting prescribers and patients via fax or phone.
Researching insurance billing options for a patient s eligible coverage options.
Preparing and submitting claims to ensure timely reimbursement including primary or secondary or tertiary claims.
Help coordinate patient assistance program support.
Review, correct, and resubmit rejections for timely reimbursement per policy guidelines.
Review billing edits if available or hard copy claims (if applicable). Edit claims per contract or payor guidelines to ensure billing requirements are met for timely reimbursement.
Respond to written and verbal customer inquiries regarding account status. Research customer's accounts and document follow-up appropriately.
Resolve account discrepancies and prepare adjustments and refunds for approval as necessary.
Follow all contract or payor rules and regulations to ensure compliance when submitting claims.
Responsible for building relationships with patients to increase satisfaction, compliance, and referrals.
Assist in other areas of the facility as needed
High School Diploma or equivalent.
Must be able to obtain, by examination, status as a qualified pharmacy technician within 180 days of hire date.
Previous pharmacy support experience or equivalent work experience and knowledge preferred.
Experience in medical billing preferred.
Must successfully pass a BCI&I and FBI background check, drug screen and register with the Ohio State.
Board of Pharmacy to be eligible for employment.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills required.
Demonstrated working knowledge and proficiency in the principles, procedures and best practices related to this position.
Ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks and projects concurrently.
Proficient interpersonal skills and the ability to interact well with all employee levels.
Good interactive skills with employees, supervisors, referral sources, and patients.
Proficient level of operating general office equipment to include telephone systems, fax, and copiers.
Ability to work with confidential material and maintain confidentiality.
Proficient attention to detail.
Must maintain a neat, clean, and well-groomed appearance and dress in a manner appropriate for a professional environment.
Ability to communicate with employees, customers, and other outside contacts.
Ability to stand for long periods of time, ability to regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 20 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, and the ability to work varied hours/days and overtime as business dictates.
