Job Description
- Oversee the Thermal Design and Process Engineering work fired heaters, electric heaters, waste heat recovery units and associated auxiliaries in support of technical proposals, projects, studies and revamps
- Supervise and train the Process Engineers, providing technical support
- Coordinate with Commercial, Engineering and Procurement teams for proposal activities
- Prepare and review the design of fired heaters, electrical heaters and waste heat boilers
- Prepare and review datasheets and documents for fired and electrical heaters, waste heat boilers and associated components such as burners, fans, air preheaters and SCR systems
- Develop P&IDs, review of line sizing, pump calculations, hydraulics, equipment & instrument datasheet preparation, interlock summary and cause & effect diagram, utilities & tie-in summary preparation, equipment layout, and operating manual preparation
- Participate in 3D model reviews
- Preparation of Material Requisitions (RFQs)
- Evaluate vendor quotations, prepare technical bid analysis for burners, fans, SCR system skids
- Coordinate technical queries and technical deviations
- Participate in Management Estimate Review meetings
- Participate in Engineering review meetings to review change orders
- Oversee the testing of burners and start ups
- Participation in HAZOP and SIL reviews with clients, and end users
- Support pre-commissioning, commissioning & startup activities and support the start-up team
- Participate in guaranteed test runs
- Lead troubleshooting of problems at site
- Review cost estimates for proposals
- Interact with worldwide affiliate offices for technical governance
- Work with commercial and technology teams to propose integrated offers
- Participate in client’s seminars and conferences providing technical presentations
- 12-15 years of experience in Process/Thermal design of Fired Heaters, WHB and associated systems
- Strong working knowledge and understanding of industry standards (API 560, et al) and codes (ASME, ASTM)
- Experience in troubleshooting and commissioning activities
- Strong analytical skills and attention to fine details are needed
- Ability to work and lead small teams independently
- Familiarity with FRNC-5 heater simulation programs is a plus
