Procurement Coordinator (HCTRA)
$19.29/hr. | North Houston
Monday – Friday 7:30 AM - 4:00 PM
Temp-To-Hire | Starts end of March

We are seeking a qualified, motivated individual to assist a client as a Procurement Coordinator for a long-term assignment. This role is important because you will receive, process, and distribute various supply orders, request quotes, and fulfill special order requests related to office and janitorial products for HCTRA. You will also coordinate deliveries, assist with warehouse shipping and receiving, assist with the inventory processes, and prepare a variety of procurement reports, spreadsheets, and analyses for management review. This is a temporary position located in North Houston. The position consists of receiving and delivering orders which would result in physical activity such as bending, lifting, pulling, and carrying items.

Accountabilities and Job Activities:
  • Receive orders for supplies for all HCTRA roadway and facility locations, review orders for special approval provisions checks the purchase order balances and contract specs for supplies that are ordered from vendors and obtain quotes for specialty products
  • Research item information, pricing, availability and item alternatives and prepare reports and analyses for items order ordered.
  • Communicate the backorders and update ETA and availability
  • Resolve emergency product requests, revise, and update various order forms for management approval
  • Receives, stores, and documents inventory-eligible items
  • Place orders, answer calls from engineers and maintenance superintendents regarding various orders, assist with file creation, prepare
  • Prepare a monthly office count of supplies
You Will Need:
  • High School or GED plus two years beyond high school
  • Must not have outstanding tolls.  Check your HCTRA account by logging in to :
  •  Minimum of two years experience in Procurement, Inventory Control
  • Able to bend, lift, pull, and carry items ordered items

  • Minimum of one (1) year experience in Warehouse Operations/Shipping & Receiving
  • Ability to operate (or learn to operate) a forklift in a safe manner Ability to drive a 26' box truck (CDL license NOT required)
  • Strong personal computer skills, utilizing software such as Outlook, and Word
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong problem-solving and strong decision-making skills
  • Knowledge of office management services, functions, organizational structure, and operational policies and procedures
  • Ability to handle a variety of multiple tasks at one time in a very fast-paced environment within timeline constraints
  • Ability and commitment to track and meet multiple deadlines and prioritize work
  • Ability to collect, evaluate, and analyze data relating to procurement, expenses, inventory control and purchasing
  • Knowledge of inventory control
  • Knowledge of standard procurement and shipping/receiving
  • Knowledge of shipping and receiving procedures.
  • Ability to manage a storeroom and supplies at the proper inventory level
