Job Description

We have partnered with a large grocery distribution center who are looking for a Project Assistant at their northern Medina County facility, located in Hinkley, OH.
 
Hours: Monday-Friday 8:00AM – 4:00PM hour lunch included
Pay:  $20.00/hr
 
What You Will Do:
In this role the Purchasing Assistant will be responsible for assisting the purchasing team with the addition of new items, including ordering produce, cost corrections, fulfilling store sign orders and prepping to mail to stores, and training as a backup on purchasing order plans. Work with Purchasing, inventory accounting, and operations teams to support the office. The ideal candidate will be comfortable working in excel, and utilizing dual monitors to work in multiple systems at a time.
 
Must be able to perform duties with or without reasonable accommodations including:
  1. Assists in ordering and securing product for the division to maximize store sales through product availability.
  2. Coordinates with suppliers and National Buying team to assure timely and cost-effective delivery of product.
  3. Verifies the accuracy of scanner retails, price signs, and print advertising.
  4. Assists with produce buying through negotiation, product projection and ordering, quality control, and regular communication with suppliers.
  5. Communicates relevant information effectively to/from other business partners.
  6. Maintains expertise in computer applications within designated area of responsibility.
  7. Maintains an efficient and well-organized filing system for the department and ensures items are archived and disposed of per company guidelines. 
  8. Works proactively to identify, investigate, and report irregularities within designated area of responsibility.
  9. Provides administrative support to purchasing leaders and any general office administrative support deemed necessary by divisional management.
  10. Interacts cooperatively with personnel, external suppliers and service companies to exchange information and maintain a successful partnership.
  11. Conducts training and cross training of knowledge and expertise within area of responsibility. 
  12. Assists with additional responsibilities, as designated by the leader, to ensure proper coverage.
  13. Job responsibilities include possible access to HIPAA-protected health information; as such, employee must comply with HIPAA Privacy and Security requirements and policies.
  14. Collaborates with team members and communicates relevant information to direct leader.
  15. Upholds the security and confidentiality of documents and data within area of responsibility.
  16. Other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience:
  1. High School Diploma / GED required.
  2. A minimum of 1 year of relevant experience required.
  3. Or, a combination of education and experience providing equivalent knowledge.
  4. Associate Degree in Business or related field preferred
Physical Requirements:
  1. Work is performed in an office environment where a computer, telephone and other office equipment are used as needed to perform duties.
  2. Regularly required to sit, reach, grasp, stand and move from one area to another.
  3. Constantly and repeatedly use keyboard/mouse.
  4. Occasionally required to push, pull, bend, lift and move up to 25 lbs.
