The Reserves Network is a full services staffing firm specializing in the placement of Administrative and Clerical employees.

We are currently seeking an Purchasing Assistant responsible for assisting in the procurement of goods and services needed by the customer using competitive bids and to provide clerical, inventory and administrative support for the division.  This position will be responsible for all of the customers excess and surplus property program requiring coordination with departments, contractors, and potential bidders to facilitate the proper transfer, auctioning, or disposal of excess, unwanted, surplus, or obsolete property. Other duties may include special assignments in the scope of purchasing activities.  

Major Duties:

This position has responsibilities that require lifting to 50 pounds on occasion.

 Drafts and sends contract amendments and renewals using provided templates. Ensures timely execution to avoid disruption of service.
 Assists with the preparation, organization, and coordination of the purchasing division's surplus activities. Catalogs, photographs, and maintains inventory of surplus property in preparation for public auction; coordinates pickup post-auction.
 Maintain inventory list.
 Assists with purchasing and contracting documentation. Manages electronic databases, compiles information and generates various reports.
 Assists during formal and informal bidding, RFI's, RFQ's, and RFP's, which may include but not limited to: creating specifications, posting legal advertisements, e-mailing prospective bidders, answering vendor questions, receiving bids, providing recommendation on bid award, notifying vendors of award recommendation, and developing council communications.
   All other duties as assigned by a supervisor/manager within your department/division
 Performs related duties as required.

Minimum Qualifications
Any combination equivalent to experience and training that would provide the required knowledge, skills, and abilities may qualify; Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite. A typical way to obtain the knowledge, skills and abilities would be:
 Education: High School Diploma or equivalent.
   Experience: Three (3) years.
   Licenses: Valid Georgia Class C Driver's License.
   Certifications Required: None.
   Reading: Intermediate ability to read and understand papers, articles, business memos, journals, manuals, written directions, policies, etc.  Typically, this level is obtained in high school up to college.
   Math: Intermediate knowledge of practical application of fractions, percentages, ratios/proportions and measurement; typically, this level is obtained in high school up to college.
   Writing:  Ability to write reports, prepare business letters, expositions, and summaries with proper format, punctuation, spelling, and grammar, using all parts of speech.  Ordinarily, such education is obtained in high school up to college. However, it may be obtained from experience and self-study.

Knowledge Required by the Position: 
 Skill in operating of assigned equipment;
 Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with other employees and vendors; ability to organize items by broad and specific classifications;
 Ability to follow written and verbal instruction;
 Ability to maintain accurate records with some knowledge of mathematical conversions.
