Bilingual Refugee Medical Assistance Caseworker

$17/ hr. | Near Downtown Houston

Monday – Friday

Temporary

We are seeking a compassionate and detailed Bilingual Caseworker who can review eligibility for displaced Houston refugees. This role is vital because it involves collecting information, verifying eligibility, orientating refugees, disbursing payments, maintaining case files, and ensuring databases are up to date. Compliance, verification, and the completion of required forms and documents are vital to this organization’s funding and the future of the refugees. Only bilingual candidates will be considered at this time.

What You Will Do:

Collect forms of documentation to enroll with Employment, Social Adjustment Services, and/or Preferred Communities
Conduct regular orientations
Establish, update monitor and maintain case files, and disburse monthly
Review eligibility and compliance before payments are dispersed
Report any compliance issues with enrollment to the program

What You Will Need:

High School Diploma or GED is required. Bachelor’s degree is preferred.
Must be bilingual
One year or more year of social services, refugee services and/or case management, is preferred
A high degree of judgment and coordination, excellent attention to detail and accuracy
Intermediate Microsoft Office
Fluency in English is required, bilingual is a huge plus
Able to work with a culturally and ethnically diverse staff, clients, and volunteers
