Sales and Business Manager [Direct Hire]
$85,000 - $120,000 | Houston, TX
Monday – Friday 8 am – 5 pm

An international leader and industry expert in dangerous goods and hazardous materials in Houston, TX is seeking a highly motivated, self-driven Sales and Business Manager to increase revenue by developing relationships with customers, preparing and presenting proposals and bids in all sectors including chemical, oil and gas, logistics, air, road, maritime and freight forwarders. Sales and Business Manager Role and Responsibilities:
  • Establish and maintain ongoing client relationships to resolve issues and grow the accounts
  • Development of a strong pipeline of new customers and projects through direct or indirect customer contact and prospecting
  • Formulates standard/routine proposals  with team members
  • Assist the Marketing Team with account attainment in selected markets
  • Develop project plans, defining roles and responsibilities and the scope of work for each project
  • Assist in presenting proposals to the customer and communicate the outcome to the team
  • Negotiate bids and collaborate with Operations & Accounting to evaluate project performance and recommend improvements.
  • Track all proposal components in Salesforce CRM
  • Participate in customer site visits
  • Obtain sales leads via phone, internet marketing, demos, webinars, trade shows, industry, and target account lists into eager prospects, returning and referrals
  • Educate clients about the benefits of increased sales and the level of customer satisfaction
Qualifications and Education Requirements:
  • 4-year degree from an accredited university is required; equivalent years of experience required
  • Minimum of two (2) years of Outside Sales experience with a proven record
  • Hazmat or DG knowledge is a plus
  • SalesForce CRM experience
  • Excellent verbal, written and presentation skills
  • Strong analytical, problem solving and negotiating skills.
  • Successful with closing deals and increasing revenue
  • Able to handle multi projects with ease
  • Experience in identifying opportunities and being successful at closing the deal
  • Creative and out-of-the-box thinker
  • Superior interpersonal skills to build trust and credibility
  • Willingness to travel as needed (25 – 50 %)
