Director of Supply Chain
Type: Direct-Hire
Location: Branford, CT
Salary: $160,000/year - $175,000/year + 10% bonus
 
 
DEPARTMENT/ POSITION SUMMARY
A top leader in the aerospace& aviation industry is seeking Director of Supply Chain  responsible for material planning, vendor management, and strategic sourcing for all their components.
 
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES:
 
  • Perform analyses of a qualitative and quantitative nature and make operational recommendations about material planning, forecasting, and inventory efficiencies such as min/max planning.
  • Ensure compliance with state and federal laws, accreditation, professional and regulatory agency standards, and licensure requirements.
  • Lead and managed a team responsible for inventory planning, supply planning, and supplier delivery.
  • Drive the material flow and availability strategy and measure and improve material availability.
  • Develop and implement supply chain strategies to ensure effective process flow and align with the enterprise vision.
  • Recruit and maintain suppliers that provide high-quality products and services at a better price while maintaining the highest code of ethics and conduct.
  • Lead initiatives to improve Supply Planning KPIs and Metrics.
  • Prepare and review contracts, bids, proposals, and vendor agreements for legal correctness, price, and acceptability of items to specifications.
 
 
QUALIFICATIONS (SKILLS, EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION, AND CERTIFICATIONS):
 
  • 10 years of experience in the aerospace industry or similar.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in a related field
  • Lead team members in departmental activities, including communicating instructions, training, achieving goals, and quick turnarounds. 
  • Tracking and reporting key functional metrics to reduce expenses and improve effectiveness.
  • Provide critical thought, give input, and oversee follow-through on strategic supply chain initiatives.
  • Understand key drivers of inventory and seek to reduce overall inventory value while maintaining sufficient supply to support target fill rates.
  • Drive a culture of analysis and execution, taking ownership of identified issues in supply planning to drive quantifiable solutions and positive business results.
  • Provide critical thought, give input, and oversee follow-through on strategic supply chain initiatives.
