Aluminum Distributor needs a General Warehouse person to become an expert in their area. You would be working in Material Handling, General Warehouse, and/or the Packaging Department. Stable, family owned company started in the 1920 s and has continued to grow. Come grow with us!
Duties/Responsibilities of the General Warehouse:
Use tablets to locate and pull orders to deliver raw materials through the production process from sawing to shipping. This includes manual movement, both solo and assisting co-workers, as well as the use of forklifts, cranes, and hand trucks.
Use tablets to locate raw materials, then pick and pull the orders. Unload and stage inbound materials with overhead crane. Load finished goods on LTL freight trucks.
Package, weigh, and prepare finished goods for shipment in accordance with defined procedures.
Cut and assemble custom skids, pallets, and boxes using wood band saw, nail gun, tape, vinyl banding, and other tools as required.
Inventory Cycle Count:
Check\inspect inventory for correct count, location, labels, etc.
: Utilize computers and tablets to track orders, control inventory, relay time sensitive information throughout shop departments, keep workstations continually supplied with material, and minimize production delays.
: Use Vernier calipers, rulers and scales to maintain specifications and tolerances.
Qualifications for the General Warehouse:
Must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily, both as an individual and as a team member.
Requires the ability to operate a variety of standard material handling and overhead material handling equipment.
Ability to report to work as required.
Adapt to training and then operate a variety of material handling equipment (Ex. overhead cranes, forklifts, wood band saws, etc.).
Forklift experience is preferred, experience and certification is a plus.
Ability to perform basic math functions.
Basic computer skills are required.
Ability to read and use measuring equipment such as tape measures micrometers, and Vernier calipers.
Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 70 pounds.
The employee frequently is required to work with their hands and be able to be on their feet for long periods of time.
High school or equivalent plus one to two years of setup and operating experience. Material Handling skills and/or certification a plus.
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
Ability to read and use measuring equipment such as veneers, micrometers, and tape measures.
Ability to convert whole numbers into decimals. Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure.
2nd shift; Monday Friday 1:30pm to 10:00pm. Saturday shifts available between 5:00am to 1:00pm (Closed on Sundays)
$13 14/hr. based on experience
