Weiler Machinist

Northwest Houston 77092

Temp-to-hire

6am to 230pm; Monday to Friday

$26 to $30 an hour; based on experience

We have collaborated with a leader in oil services who provides inflatable packers to the oil and gas industry to locate a Weiler Machinist. The right candidate will have experience operating machinery including lathes, mills and grinders as well as identify a variety of taper threads such as rotary Threads, IF threads.

Responsibilities

Select, align, and secure the holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, and materials on machines to include mills, lathes and grinders.
Calculate and set controls to regulate various machining factors such as speed, feed, coolant flow and depth and angle of cut.
Inspecting equipment, structures, or materials to identify the cause of errors or other problems or defects
Review blueprints, precision measuring instruments and job orders to determine dimensions, tolerance, and tooling requirements
Confer with production personnel, engineers or others to resolve machining or assembly issues.

Qualifications

Ability to read and understand engineering drawings as they pertain to machining of inflatable packers or related downhole tools
High school diploma or GED
Must be able to accurately program and set up machine tools within Weiler Sinumerik operating system
Requires one-year certificate from college or technical school or minimum of five years related experience and/or training
lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
Must be able to pass a pre-employment criminal background check and drug screen
