Welder Fabricator

 

Specialty fabrication shop looking for a Welder Fabricator to join their team.  If you can visualize how a product goes together from a two dimensional drawing to a 3D object, then this could be a great job for you.  For over 50 years, this company has specialized in custom fabrication of ornamental iron throughout Metro Milwaukee.  You ve seen their work at Miller Park, the Marcus Amphitheatre and East Pointe Commons.

 

Duties of the Welder Fabricator:

          This is not a production welding job.  The Welder Fabricator starts with the blueprint, lays out the job, cuts the material, welding, grinding and finishing work.

          Works from blueprints and shop drawings to lay out miscellaneous steel such as railings, stairs, fences, window guards, gates, columns and steel stairs.

          Cuts, punches, and drills material as required.

          MIG welds steel materials such as tube, angle and channel, ranging from 16 gauge to thick.

          TIG welding capability of brass, aluminum and stainless steel is a plus.

          Grinds materials to high finish standards.

          Ability to think through projects and problem solve since most of the work is custom jobs.

 

Requirements for the Welder Fabricator:

          A Valid Wisconsin driver s license is required.  All employees must be able to be insured by our insurance company. 

          Good math skills required, i.e. converting fractions and decimals, basic algebra. 

          Must be able to read a tape measure to 16ths of an inch.

          Heavy lifting is required up to 50 lbs. on a regular basis.

          Ability to be state certified.

 

Hours/Pay/Benefits:

          1st shift; Monday Friday, 7 am 330 pm; when working overtime 6 am 4:30 pm; some Saturdays as needed 7 am noon
