Reports to: Welding Lead
I. General Position Summary
The Welder is responsible for welding metal components utilizing proper welding equipment to manufacture parts and assemblies as required, meeting defined production schedules.
a. Essential Functions / Major Responsibilities
? Build welded assemblies for products and changes to existing products per engineering documents and established production standards.
? Set-up, and lay out work using fixtures and guides to repair, modify, or fabricate parts and assemblies.
? Arrange parts for welding and staging processes.
? Review finished assemblies and parts to ensure accuracy against drawings and BOMs.
? Report fabrication issues and assist in resolutions as required.
? Operate and/or use related equipment and tools necessary to complete parts to specifications, which include forklifts, hoists, slings, grinders (portable & bench), cutting torches, hand tools, drills, punches, tape measure, etc.
? Diagnose process and quality issues, and make improvement recommendations to department manager.
? Reject defective parts and material according to policy.
? Ensure safe, careful use, treatment, and maintenance of tools and equipment.
? Participate in and attend cross functional meetings as required.
? Performs other duties as assigned by management.

c. Education and Experience Requirements
? 6 months to 1 year of related work experience preferred.
? High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.

? Bending, stooping, reaching, twisting, lifting, pushing, pulling and moving items - The employee will be required to stand, walk, sit, and reach with hands and arms; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl on a frequent basis; working in a confined space; work on uneven or slippery surfaces. Requires the ability to move around and maneuver products when necessary. Employee must occasionally lift/push/pull or carry up to 100 pounds maximum, and should be able to lift up to 35-50 pounds on a frequent basis.
? Walking and Standing - Employee must be able to climb steps on a frequent basis as well as stand on or move around on platforms, equipment and concrete floors
? Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range - Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and abilities to adjust to focus. Ability to hear and understand speech at normal room levels and on the telephone.
? Requires working under stressful conditions or working irregular hours

? Working Environment is usually moderately loud while in the production area.
? May be required to work in outside weather conditions, in wet and/or humid conditions, and near moving mechanical parts.
? Due to forklifts and other heavy equipment traveling through the plant, temporary cracks may appear in the floor, causing an uneven walking surface.
? The production environment can be dusty and noisy.
? Doors in the plant are frequently open, causing drafts and interior temperature changes.
? Floors around work area may become slippery during wet weather conditions.
? May have to handle merchandise and work with tools with sharp edges.
? Passing forklifts emit gas fumes.
? Tools, supplies, and related merchandise may contain hazardous materials.
