Our client located in Waterbury has been family owned and operated for over 60 years. Due to growth we are looking to add to their skilled Welding team. The right candidate would be looking for a career opportunity and advancement.
Welder Duties Include:
Recognizes, sets up, and operates hand and power tools common to the welding trade, such as shielded metal arc and gas metal arc welding equipment.
Operates drill presses, power saws, grinders and a variety of welding equipment and hand tools.
Lays out, positions, aligns, and secures parts and assemblies prior to assembly, using straightedges, combination squares, calipers, and rulers.
Clamps, holds, tack-welds, heat-bends, grinds or bolts component parts to obtain required configurations and positions for welding.
Operates manual or semi-automatic welding equipment to fuse metal segments in flat, vertical, or overhead positions.
Detects faulty operation of equipment or defective materials and notifies supervisors.
Completes all repairs required to sustain a productive operation.
Completes all preventative maintenance assignments as directed.
Two years of welding experience or a completion of an accredited welder s training program or, any equivalent combination of experience and or training from which the required knowledge, skills and abilities have been achieved.
Must be able to lift and carry up to 50lbs.
Able to be on feet for 80-90% of the shift.
